History of Suizhou Central Hospital

In the 30th year of Guangxu (1904), Mr. and Mrs. Li Chunhua, a British pastor, set up a pharmacy and clinic in the Evangelical Church in the county.

Republic of China, at the end of the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), the Hubei Diocese sent Li Shaobai to Suizhou to set up the Pui Ai Hospital.

In 1933, Li Shaobai was transferred to Wuhan Union Hospital. In 1933, Li Shaobai was transferred to Wuhan Concord Hospital, and the hospital was handed over to Mark Ren and Yu Guanghua.

In 1940, Puhai Hospital organized refugee camps and renamed Puhai Clinic.

In 1949, the Hubei Church sent Mr. and Mrs. Zhang Yuhua and Wu Huaying to set up the Puhai Clinic.

In October 1949, the Suixian People's Government decided to establish a "hospital belonging to the people" and invited Li Shaobai, the former director of the Suixian Puai Hospital who was working at the Hankou Union Hospital, to return to Suizhou to set up the "Suizhou People's Government Health Center".

In September 1955, the former Hongshan County and Suixian County merged, and the health center was renamed Suixian County Health Center No. 1, with the number of employees increasing to 67 and the number of beds increasing to 69 beds.

In February 1960, the name was changed to Suixian People's Hospital.

In 1984, the county and city merged and was renamed Suizhou First People's Hospital.

In 2000, the establishment of prefecture-level Suizhou City, renamed Suizhou City Center Hospital.
