Words used in public **** places (including made words) as referred to in these regulations mean that Chinese characters used in public **** places include plaques, advertisements, windows, light boxes, neon signs, slogans, signs, road name plates, station name plates, overpass name plates, trade names, trademark names, store names, film and television screens, publications, audio-visual products, tickets and all kinds of publicity materials. Article 4 The Office of the Language and Literature Working Committee of Kunming is responsible for the management of the use of words in public **** places in the city, which is under the leadership of the Language and Literature Working Committee of Kunming and under the management of the Municipal Education Commission.
Counties (cities) should set up the corresponding management organization, specifically responsible for the management of public **** place word management in the region. Article V public **** place with the word, must comply with the following normative standards:

(3) Simplified characters in the Second Simplified Chinese Characters Program (Draft) which have been repealed;
(4) Wrong and illegitimate characters and self-made simplified Chinese characters. Article 7 One of the following circumstances, you can use words that do not meet the normative standards:
(a) written before the founding of the country and continue to be used today's old word plaques with words;
(b) cultural relics and monuments in the original text (including antique building couplets);

Article 8 violation of the provisions of the use of non-standard characters in public **** places, the Office of the Kunming Language and Literature Commission shall order the responsible unit or responsible person to make corrections within a certain period of time; overdue correction, a fine of 100 yuan per day per word until corrected. Article 9 If a foreign or overseas unit or individual commissions an advertising designer or producer in the city to produce all kinds of advertisement signboards using non-standardized characters, the producer shall be the responsible unit or responsible person for using non-standardized characters. Article X. Specific issues in the implementation of these provisions, the Municipal Board of Education is responsible for interpretation.
