In September 1950, Xiangshan County People's Cultural Center was established.

In July 1980, the county film management station was changed to a film distribution and projection company.

In 1986, Xiangshan held the first Lantern Festival light show activities.
In 1992, an instrumental performance of "Spring Tide of Fishing Harbor" by the Xiangshan delegation won the first prize of instrumental performance in the Second Ningbo City Sound and Dance Festival. Dancheng, Yue Pu, Jennxi, Si Zhou Tou, Huang Shunao townships and Dancheng third elementary school, the county experimental elementary school have set up a folk band, of which Dancheng, Shipu townships folk band was absorbed into the provincial national orchestral society group members.

Sanitation
Sanitation has a documented history dating back to the second year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty (1427), but its development has been very slow.
In 1949, there was only one health center in the county, with a staff of 10 (including 7 health technicians) and 20 hospital beds, plus 68 private medical practitioners, and no professional sanitary and epidemiological institutions and personnel, with an average of 2.74 medical personnel and 0.81 hospital beds per 10,000 people. The vast majority of rural areas in addition to a few sporadic Chinese medicine personnel Chinese medicine stores, medical institutions are almost in a state of blank.
In March 1950, the county people's government took over the health center and renamed it the Xiangshan County People's Government Health Center.
By 1956, there were 24 public medical and health institutions in ****, including 1 county hospital, 21 commune hospitals (health centers), 1 epidemic prevention station, and 1 women's health center. There were 158 health workers and 32 beds.
In the period of comprehensive construction of socialism, the funding for health services increased from 12,900 yuan in 1956 to 105,700 yuan in 1965, the number of health care institutions increased from 24 in 1956 to 46, the number of beds increased from 32 to 246, and the number of staff increased from 158 to 434.
In 1965, the rural medical and health care network at the three levels of Xiangshan County, community and team was initially formed.
By 1976, the funding for health services increased from 216,000 yuan in 1966 to 433,600 yuan,*** there are 49 medical institutions, including 2 county hospitals, 44 commune hospitals, 2 town hospitals, 1 epidemic prevention station, 460 beds, 605 health workers, including 536 health workers.
1980 - 1999, **** construction of medical and health care buildings 74,446 square meters, of which 41,966 square meters of operational rooms, living rooms 26,454 square meters, other rooms 6026 square meters. 19 township and village health centers equipped with X-ray machines. On June 28, 2003, the First People's Hospital of Xiangshan County, which covers an area of 180 acres and has a construction area of 51,733 square meters, was moved into operation.
In 2004, the county popularized the new rural cooperative medical care.
April 2005, Xiangshan County, 120 emergency system officially launched the operation of the county's first people's hospital and the Taiwan compatriot hospital were set up in the first and second branch of the Ningbo Emergency Center Xiangshan

The number of health and technical personnel in Xiangshan has reached 1737 (26 of high grade, 142 of deputy high grade and 590 of middle grade)
As of 2009, the investment in Xiangshan health care has reached 94,166,900 Yuan, of which 76,806,900 Yuan has been invested by the county treasury, which is an increase of 3.84% compared with that of the previous year.
