Wuhan University Stomatology Hospital, the predecessor of Hubei Medical University Stomatology Hospital, was founded in 1960, is the first stomatology department of the new China to rely on its own strength.1962 Hubei Medical College affiliated stomatology hospital was established and opened in Wuchang; 1993 Hubei Medical College stomatology department was renamed the Hubei Medical University School of Stomatology; approved by the State Council on August 2, 2000, the former On August 2, 2000, approved by the State Council, the former Wuhan University, Wuhan University of Water Conservancy and Electric Power, Wuhan University of Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology and Hubei Medical University formed the new Wuhan University, and the hospital was renamed as Wuhan University Stomatological Hospital. After decades of hard work and construction, has developed into a set of teaching, research, medical care in one of the higher stomatology institutions, is China's important School of Stomatology and one of the main stomatology education base.
The School of Stomatology has the right to confer doctoral degree on the first-level discipline of stomatology, and basic stomatology is a national key discipline. It has gathered a group of famous professors at home and abroad, including 2 national teaching masters, 5 outstanding talents of the new century of the Ministry of Education, 25 doctoral supervisors and 60 master supervisors, grasping the international leading technology, with advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment and advanced teaching and research facilities. The teaching team of Stomatology is a national excellent teaching team, "Endodontics" and "Oral Biology" are national excellent courses, Stomatology is the Ⅱ characteristic specialty of the Ministry of Education, and 2 teaching achievements have won the second prize of national teaching achievements.
At present, the university is able to enroll five-year undergraduates, seven-year undergraduates, eight-year undergraduates, master's degree holders, doctoral degree holders, international students, and advanced students every year. Every year, famous scholars from all over the world hold academic lectures and exchanges from time to time, and the students trained by the university have been spreading all over the world.
The Dental Hospital is a post-doctoral mobile station of stomatology, with the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education of Oral Biomedicine, and the Cultivation Base of the State Key Laboratory of Stomatological Basic Medicine of the Ministry of Oral Basic Medicine of the People's Republic of China.
Presiding over and completing a number of national science and technology research projects and science and technology support projects, the National Natural Science Foundation of China key projects, major projects of international cooperation, surface projects and the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Hubei Province and other scientific research issues. In the past three years, 68 projects were approved by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and 3 research results won the second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress.
In recent years, the number of SCI papers published has been ranked in the top 20 of national medical institutions for many times, and 2 papers have been awarded the National Award for 100 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertations.
The college also co-organizes, edits and publishes the Journal of Stomatology Research with more than ten sister institutions. Faculty members have edited or co-edited all the Ministry of Health undergraduate and postgraduate planning textbooks.
The Stomatological Hospital is the largest specialized hospital of Grade 3A in the central region and a base for teaching, scientific research and clinical practice in the specialty of stomatology. She has 23 clinical and medical departments, including Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Implantology, and Children's Stomatology, which are national key clinical specialties. The hospital has 3 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions from the Ministry of Health, 17 nationally renowned dental experts, and more than 300 medical and technical personnel of intermediate level or above. The hospital has set up 400 comprehensive oral treatment chairs and 150 beds, providing comprehensive and excellent oral medical and health care services for patients in Wuhan, the central region and even the whole country.
Since the 1990s, it has set up 14 branch clinics in Wuhan, Yichang and Dongguan, pioneering the chainization of public oral health care services and realizing good social and economic benefits with first-class professional technology, perfect service quality and strict management system.
As the birthplace of the Chinese chapter of IADR, the largest international dental research organization, the School of Dentistry has extensive cooperation with the international dental community, with the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, the Medical University of Georgia School of Dentistry, the Baylor College of Dentistry of A&M University, the University of Technology of Queensland (Australia), the University of Nemeking School of Dentistry (Netherlands), the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), the University of Japan Matsudo School of Dentistry, and the University of Japan Matsudo School of Dentistry. We have signed research cooperation agreements with schools such as Matsudo School of Dentistry, Niigata University School of Dentistry, Thammasat University School of Dentistry, Hong Kong University School of Dentistry, and Sun Yat-sen University School of Stomatology, and also accept foreign graduate students, international students, and trainees for further study in our hospital. We regularly participate in international conferences or forums in the field of dentistry to introduce the development of Chinese dentistry while grasping the latest advances in international dental research.
