School was founded in 1978, formerly known as the Nanjing Institute of Chemical Technology, Wuxi Branch, Changzhou Branch. 1981 approved by the State Council, the school was named Jiangsu Institute of Chemical Technology; in 1992 to become the China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation management of the Ministry of Education and renamed Jiangsu Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Technology; 2002 renamed Jiangsu Institute of Technology; 2010 renamed Jiangsu Institute of Technology. In 2010, it was renamed Changzhou University. After 44 years of development, Changzhou University has established a complete system of bachelor's degree, master's degree and doctoral degree training, as well as a multi-level scientific research and social service system. 2023, Changzhou University ranked 129th in China in the Soft Sciences China University Ranking.
The university has complete infrastructure and excellent conditions for school running.
