Are Apple trade-ins real?

Apple trade-ins are real.

You can trade-in an eligible device for a trade-in. If it doesn't qualify for the credit, it can be recycled for free. Regardless of the model or condition of the equipment, it can be turned into a resource that is good for the planet.

Just answer a few questions about the equipment. A competitive discounted estimate will be given based on the information provided. Or, there is the option to have it recycled and disposed of for free.

Before handing over the device, it will be shown how to wipe the data to make sure your information isn't leaked to others. If it's an Apple product, it's even easier. Just use iCloud or Time Machine to move everything in a few steps.

You may not need your device anymore, but it's still got some life left in it. If it's in good condition, it'll find a new owner. If it's in poor condition, it will be given to one of our recycling partners. This saves more valuable materials and reduces the exploitation of the earth's resources.

Offsetting your device is as easy as buying a new one. An offset service partner will schedule a time with you to pick up your equipment. Or you can drop off your old device at an Apple Retail Store, where you'll get an instant credit for a trade-in, or take your device to a recycling organization.

Expanded:

Apple has launched the Apple GiveBack program online. The Apple GiveBack program allows users to trade-in eligible devices for a discounted price. If the product has no offset value, Apple will also recycle it for free.

If the recycled device is a cell phone, Apple supports the recycling of five brands of cell phones - Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo, and Samsung - in addition to Apple's own products. iPhone 7 Plus can be recycled for up to $2,095 if it is functioning well and undamaged.

In addition to cell phones, Apple also supports the recycling of tablets, computers, watches and other devices, but non-cell phone devices can only be offset by Apple's own products, while other brands can only provide free recycling services.

Before recycling, officials will show you the whole process of wiping your device's data to make sure the information won't be leaked.

Previously, the service was only available at offline Apple Stores, but now there's a new pickup service, which requires a simple online survey of the device's condition and submission of the serial number. You can receive up to $1,625 in credit for tablets, $6,210 for computers, and $965 for watches.

If the valuation offer is accepted, the carrier will pick up the device and will issue the credit within two weeks, during which time there are no courier costs. In the case of iPhone devices that do not have a credit value, Apple will efficiently recover and reuse the resources in the device through disassembly robots after recycling.
