In 1958, Nanchang Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School merged with Jiangxi Agricultural Cadre School, Jiangxi Agricultural Economics School and Jiangxi Agricultural Machinery School to form Jiangxi Agricultural School, which was closed in 1968, and set up Jiangxi Animal Husbandry and Fisheries School in 1980. in June 2003, approved by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, it was upgraded to the status of Jiangxi Agricultural School. Approved by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, upgraded to higher vocational college and renamed Jiangxi Biotechnology Vocational College.
