Ren Doctor is a medical, crossover drama series broadcast on October 11, 2009 by Japanese television station TBS, based on the science fiction manga by Japanese manga artist Norika Murakami. It is directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa and stars Takao Osawa, Ayase Yō, and Miki Nakatani.
The drama focuses on Nanbu Ren, a modern brain surgeon at a university hospital, who travels back in time to the late Shogunate period, where he saves patients from various heroes and gradually gets caught up in the turbulent tides of history.
