Human organ donation process

I. Specific process of organ donation

1. Volunteer organ donors can log on to the Red Cross website or go to the office of the city Red Cross to obtain a copy of the "Human Organ Donation and Transplantation Regulations" to learn more about the instructions for organ donation.

2. Volunteer donors can get the Organ Donation Volunteer Letter from the Red Cross and the blood donation mobile sites in the city.

3. The volunteers themselves or their immediate family members will fill out the Organ Donation Volunteer Form, which is uniformly made by the municipal Red Cross. Minor volunteers who donate organs must have their parents' consent and fill out the Organ Donation Volunteer Form on their behalf. The Organ Donation Volunteer Form requires the consent of the volunteer's immediate family members (parents, spouse, adult children, guardians) to sign.

4. After filling out the Organ Donation Volunteer Form, the volunteer himself/herself or delegate someone else to hand it over to the Municipal Red Cross, and bring the original ID card of the volunteer himself/herself with him/herself.

5. Two copies of the Organ Donation Volunteer Form will be examined and stamped by the Municipal Red Cross, one will be filed and the other will be handed over to the volunteer or the delegate for his/her own safekeeping.

6. When the volunteer is going to die, the delegator will notify the Municipal Red Cross in advance to make preparations.

7. The municipal Red Cross can accept the organs after getting the death certificate from the hospital of the volunteer organ donor.

8. The municipal Red Cross will issue a certificate of honor to the volunteer's relatives, and the volunteer's ashes can be buried under the Tree of Light.

Regulations on Human Organ Transplantation

Article 11 Medical institutions engaged in human organ transplantation, shall, in accordance with the "Regulations on the Administration of Medical Institutions", to the competent health department of the people's government of the province, autonomous region and municipality directly under the central government for human organ transplantation diagnostic and treatment subject registration. A medical institution engaging in human organ transplantation shall have the following conditions: (1) a licensed physician and other medical personnel appropriate for engaging in human organ transplantation; (2) equipment and facilities necessary to meet the needs of human organ transplantation; (3) a committee on the clinical application of human organ transplantation technology and ethics composed of experts in medicine, jurisprudence, ethics, etc., and the number of medical experts engaging in human organ transplantation in the committee shall not exceed the number of members. Medical experts in human organ transplantation not more than 1/4 of the number of members; (d) have a comprehensive human organ transplantation quality control and other management systems.
