Two equally brilliant and talented doctors, OB/GYN Dr. Wong Foo-fan and Cardiologist Dr. Chai Pak-hang, each with their own heartache and nightmares, travel to Africa to participate in a medical mission through a humanitarian organization, LifeForce.
Eight years ago, Wong Foo-fan, an arrogant and egotistical cardiologist, spent a lot of time and effort on medical research, but in the midst of chasing fame and fortune, he witnessed the death of his beloved girlfriend in his arms and was unable to do anything about it, which caused Wong Foo-fan to change his whole outlook on life. He followed his girlfriend's footsteps, traveled to Africa, in the grandeur of nature, experience the wonders of life, feel the amazing tenacity of people in the difficult environment for survival, Fen was inspired to appreciate the joy of life and valuable.
Upon her return to Hong Kong, she fulfilled the promise she made to her girlfriend by studying obstetrics and gynecology, and followed in her footsteps by joining LifeForce, a cross-border humanitarian service. Since then, Fen's attitude towards life has changed drastically. She no longer values fame, fortune and materialism, but rather puts patients first, and with the donation of a wealthy philanthropist, she opened the Dragon City Medical Center in Kowloon City.
During LifeForce's medical mission to Africa, Fen meets the newest cardiologist, Qi Baiheng, who has always aspired to be a cardiologist at a top hospital and is confident in his own medical skills, but is amazed by Fen's alternative therapies that do not follow the norm, and are not constrained by the limitations of medical supplies or specifications. At first, he was even more surprised and unimpressed. However, Heng could not help but admire Fen's selflessness in risking her own life to save it, and gradually reflected on his own narrow vision. Upon his return to Hong Kong, Heng joins his father's wealthy private hospital, Ling Xiao Hospital, as a resident cardiologist, but finds that his passion and ideals are incompatible with the commercial administrative system of private hospitals, and at the same time, sees that FUN's medical style in Dragon City Medical Center is much closer to his own ideas. The story is about the life of a doctor, and how he was able to make a living as an outpatient.
When Heng first joins Dragon City, he finds it difficult to adapt to working with Fen. Heng believes that Fen has overstepped the boundaries of being a doctor when she intervenes in the lives of her patients, and tries to bring them back to the straight and narrow by stepping out of line and treating them. Gradually, however, Heng is infected by Fen's humane spirit, and sees that some neglected and abandoned people have regained the meaning of life through Fen's "healing the sick and healing the heart". In addition, Heng participates in the rescue work of LifeForce under Fen's guidance, and Heng finally broadens his mind and vision, and learns that a doctor is not only healing the sick, but also caring for the lives of the people. In the process, the two of them develop a bond of sympathy, both as mentors and friends.

During one of Life Force's medical missions to Africa, Fen met Dr. Qi Baiheng, a cardiologist, and later dragged him to join the Lung Shing Clinic and participate in Life Force's volunteer services. While FUN and HENG share the same belief in "people-oriented" medical work, FUN will intervene in the patients' lives, not only treating the sick but also treating the human beings, while HENG emphasizes on the medical skills and concern for the patients' conditions, and has reservations about FUN's role as a doctor, a social worker, and a god at the same time.
In terms of romance, Fen has never forgotten his former girlfriend and has no desire to start a new relationship. FUN meets KANG QIAO, a nurse at Lingxiao Hospital, and realizes that they both care about the patients and share the same beliefs. FUN takes care of QIAO's sick brother, which makes QIAO fall in love with FUN, but FUN has a hard time to get rid of the knot in FUN's heart, and then HE Zheng, his partner in LONG CHENG, makes a move to QIAO.
Fen thinks she can't let go of her dead girlfriend's baggage, but it's not until a medical mission in Africa, where Fen is rescued by Joe, who sacrifices himself to save Fen, that Fen realizes that her feelings for Joe have long been indelible. Heng's stay at Life Force is a time when he is inspired by Fen and realizes the value of family love. When he thinks about his own poor relationship with his father, he feels sorry for him and finally, Heng puts aside the knot he has had for many years and comes back to Hong Kong to try to mend his father's relationship with him.
Heng's first patient at Ling Xiao Hospital is the daughter of the hospital's director, Gao Xiao Rou. Although Xiao Rou is bratty and willful, Heng does not take it personally and still tries his best to treat her, scolding and cajoling her at the same time, aiming at curing the patient, but it makes Xiao Rou regard him as her emotional support, and she has a heartfelt love for him, but Heng is only in love with Xiao Qing.
