What is alcohol extracted from?

Alcohol is extracted from grain, which is made by crushing the grain containing starch, soaking and cooking the raw materials, inoculating microorganisms (Rhizopus and yeast), fermenting (first decomposing the starch in the grain into glucose with Rhizopus, then converting the glucose into alcohol with yeast), and distilling. The alcohol produced in the fermentation mixture is purified by distillation into high concentration alcohol.

Ethanol is an organic compound, commonly known as alcohol. Ethanol can be used to make acetic acid, beverage, essence, dye, fuel and so on. 70%~75% ethanol is a common disinfectant in medical treatment. Ethanol is widely used in chemical industry, health care, food industry, agricultural production and other fields.
