Mainly to explore the diagnosis, combined with visual diagnosis. * * * Check 6 sections, namely, upper right posterior teeth area, upper left posterior teeth area, lower right posterior teeth area, upper left posterior teeth area and lower left posterior teeth area. Hold the CPI probe with a pen and use the ring finger as a fulcrum. Gently insert the probe into the gingival sulcus or periodontal pocket, with the probe parallel to the long axis of the tooth and close to the root. The subgingival calculus can be felt by moving the gingival sulcus along the buccal (labial) and lingual (palatal) surfaces of teeth up and down for a short distance. At the same time, gingival bleeding was observed, and the depth of periodontal pocket was observed according to the scale on the probe. The force used by CPI probe shall not exceed 20g.
1. Make sure that the indexing teeth are normal. The oral cavity is divided into 6 segments, with 10 index teeth, namely 8 molars in the upper and lower jaws and 1 central incisors in the upper right and lower left, namely 17, 16, 1 1, 26, 27, 333. Subjects over the age of 20 need to check every index finger tooth.
According to WHO regulations, each area must have two or more functional teeth, and there are no indications for tooth extraction, so that the area can be examined. Adults sometimes lack an index finger tooth in the posterior tooth area, or this tooth has indications for tooth extraction, so only the other index finger tooth is examined. If all the index teeth in a part are missing or there are signs of tooth extraction, all the remaining teeth in the part will be scored with the heaviest condition. If there are no functional teeth or only one functional tooth in the part, the part is regarded as an excluded part. The buccal (labial), lingual (palatal) gingival sulcus or periodontal pocket of each index tooth must be examined. The examination results of two functional teeth in each segment were scored according to the most serious condition.
2. Scoring criteria
0= Healthy gums
1= gingivitis, bleeding after probing.
2= Dental calculus, which can be seen with the probe, but the black part of the probe is exposed outside the gingival pocket.
3= Early periodontal disease, the gingival margin covers the black part of the probe, and the depth of the gingival pocket is 4-5 mm.
4= In the late stage of periodontal disease, the black part of the probe is completely covered by the gingival margin, and the depth of periodontal pocket is greater than 6 mm.
X= excluded part (less than two functional teeth)
9= Unable to check
The above scores are filled in the CPI scoring table, with one point in each grid, and the two functional teeth in the posterior segment are scored according to the most serious situation.
