In The Journey to the West, the world is divided into four continents: Dongsheng Shenzhou, Xiniuhe Prefecture, Nanshanbu Prefecture and Beiju Luzhou. Huaguoshan belongs to Dongsheng Shenzhou, which is located on the sea, and the purple gas comes from the east, so the Monkey King can become one of the few saints in the Journey to the West.
And Dongsheng Shenzhou is the most peaceful place among the four continents. In the words of the Tathagata, it is "respectful and calm", so even the Monkey King, who has never studied Taoism, can live happily in Huaguoshan for more than 300 years without any danger.
Guo Hua is a paradise for monkeys, a veritable Monkey Mountain, just like the Xuan Ying Cave in Qinglong Mountain where three rhinoceros spirits are located, and a paradise for cattle.
In its heyday, Guo Hua had only "47,000 monkeys", which was the largest number of animals in The Journey to the West, more than Shituoling, which had the second largest number, because there were only "47,800" goblins in Shituoling, while Guo Huashan had 72-hole demon kings and other non-lineal troops.
There are four monkey spirits in Huaguo Mountain, and there are four old monkeys, including two red-tailed macaques and two monkeys with backs. These four old monkeys instructed the Monkey King to seek longevity, look after his family and protect the healthy growth of the Monkey King. Huaguoshan can become a paradise for monkeys because there are many flowers and fruits in Huaguoshan, as can be seen from its name.
