Changzhi Museum is located in Taihang West Street, Changzhi City. The new building was started on1September 1990 and completed on1October1September 1992, covering an area of13,340 square meters and a building area of 8,200 square meters. The name of the museum was inscribed by Mr. Zhao Puchu, Chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Association. Changzhi Museum faces south and is divided into office building, cultural relics exhibition building and ancient tomb exhibition hall. The top of the cultural relics exhibition building is umbrella-shaped, with a bronze chariot and horse 6 meters long, 2.5 meters high and weighing 7.5 tons, which is the symbol of the museum.

Changzhi Museum has 6 exhibition halls with an area of 5,200 square meters. There is a basic exhibition "Shangdang has never been the roof of the world-Changzhi Ancient Civilization Exhibition", which is divided into five units: stone tools, jade articles, bronzes, pottery and porcelain, and exhibits 320 pieces of various cultural relics from the Paleolithic period to the Qing Dynasty; The special exhibition "Changzhi Ancient Tomb" shows 14 ancient tomb rooms and funerary objects from the Eastern Zhou Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. There is an exhibition of "Warring States chariots and horses pit" unearthed; In addition, more than 40 large-scale exhibitions such as "Changzhi Historical and Cultural Relics Exhibition" and "Shangdang Celebrity Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition" were held.
