What is a mammary duct?

Mammary duct, also known as mammary duct, is formed by the confluence of interlobular mammary ducts formed by small mammary ducts, which are mainly located in the subcutaneous tissue of the chest and are one of the important components of the breast. Together with glands, fibrous tissue and adipose tissue, it constitutes the whole breast.

About 15-20 female unilateral breast is a mammary duct, which spreads radially to the whole breast with the nipple as the center. One end of each mammary duct is connected with the breast lobe, and the other end faces the nipple, which is an important conduit for human body to store and discharge milk.

Common diseases of mammary duct mainly include mammary duct ectasia and mammary duct cancer. The main symptoms are intermittent nipple discharge, lump, pain and changes in nipple skin tissue, which need special attention to maintenance and observation.
