The Relationship between Food Safety and Health

Food safety is closely related to health, and it is related to everyone's vital interests and life health. Food safety problems mainly include: microorganisms, pathogenic bacteria and harmful substances exceeding the standard caused by food spoilage, illegal or excessive use of food additives, illegal use or addition of non-edible substances, food quality and nutrient content.

In the past ten years, food safety incidents such as "Sanlu brand infant milk powder, dichlorvos ham, lean meat, dyed steamed bread, fake wine and leather milk powder" have emerged one after another. These unqualified foods have become the direct killers of people's health and threaten people's basic right to subsistence. In order to strengthen food safety supervision, food experts, nutrition experts and supervision departments revised the original Hygienic Standard for Food Additives and re-promulgated it as the Safety Standard for Food Additives on the basis of full investigation of the relationship between food additives and various harmful substances and human health. The state has also raised the issue of food safety to the height of people's livelihood to pay attention to and solve it.

In addition, the deep-seated causes of food safety problems are poor management of production enterprises, pursuit of interests and moral deficiency of illegal producers. Therefore, food safety is more related to the healthy development of the whole food enterprise, industry and even the whole society.
