20 19 academic exchange meeting on seasonal influenza prevention and control strategy was held in Beijing.

Recently, the 20 19 academic exchange meeting on seasonal influenza prevention and control strategies was held in Beijing. This meeting is sponsored by Chinese Preventive Medicine Association and supported by Sanofi Pasteur Company. Lance E. Rodewald, Vice President of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Senior Consultant of Immunization Program of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Li Zhongjie, Deputy Director of Communication and Prevention Department of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and researcher Feng attended the meeting. Experts reiterate that annual influenza vaccination is the most effective means to prevent influenza, which can significantly reduce the risk of influenza and serious complications.

Yang Weizhong, Vice President of China Preventive Medicine Association.

Yang Weizhong, vice president of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, said: "the State Council's Opinions on Implementing Healthy China Action reiterated the importance of chronic disease management and influenza vaccine prevention and control, and emphasized that we should fully understand the important role of vaccines in preventing diseases and give priority to advocating high-risk groups to get influenza vaccine before the influenza epidemic season. We call on the whole people to be vaccinated every year to form a group immune barrier and reduce the incidence of influenza in the whole society. "

Influenza, a seriously underestimated threat.

As an acute respiratory infection, influenza is not just a common cold. Influenza virus directly attacks human respiratory system, which can cause many serious life-threatening complications such as viral pneumonia, secondary bacterial pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, shock, disseminated intravascular coagulation and so on. Every winter, influenza virus will arrive as scheduled with a new look, resulting in seasonal epidemic.

Influenza and its complications have been seriously underestimated by the whole society. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that worldwide, the seasonal epidemic of influenza can cause 650,000 deaths every year, which is equivalent to 1 person dying of influenza every 48 seconds.

Dr Lance E. Rodewald, Senior Consultant of Immunization Program of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, introduced in the report that in recent years, the incidence and mortality of influenza in China have generally shown a steep upward trend. According to the data of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in the first five months of 2065438+2009 alone, the number of reported influenza cases in China has reached1770,000, exceeding the total number of reported influenza cases in the past four years.

Prevention of high-risk groups comes first, and vaccination is the key.

Researcher Feng of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention pointed out in the report that infants, school students, medical workers, pregnant women, patients with chronic diseases and the elderly over 60 years old are all high-risk groups of influenza, and the risk of serious illness and death after illness is higher. Vaccine is the most economical and effective intervention measure for influenza prevention and control, so it is suggested to vaccinate high-risk groups first.

Professor Qian Suyun, from the Department of Critical Care Medicine, Beijing Children's Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, said that 40% of children with serious complications had no underlying diseases before onset. The key to reduce the incidence and mortality of severe influenza lies in early diagnosis, early treatment, early prevention and emphasis on vaccination. Children from 6 months to 5 years old are the key population for influenza vaccination. If there are babies under 6 months at home, their families and caregivers should be vaccinated in time to provide a safe and secure breastfeeding environment for the baby.

However, the importance of influenza vaccine has not been fully recognized by the whole society. At present, the total coverage of influenza vaccine in China is insufficient, which is far behind the average level of developed countries.

Researcher Feng believes that the support at the national level is of great significance to improve the vaccination rate, and it is necessary to vigorously carry out health education and strengthen the understanding of the necessity of influenza vaccination. In addition, we should encourage more investment in public vaccines, promote the policy of benefiting the people, and further build a more convenient and accessible vaccination service system.

High-quality vaccines help to prevent and control influenza in China.

At the conference site, the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association awarded Sanofi Pasteur the honorary title of "Pioneer of Anti-influenza Popular Science Propaganda". Zhang Heping, general manager of Sanofi Pasteur in China, said that Sanofi Pasteur is the only foreign-funded vaccine enterprise that has invested and built a factory in China and a world-class influenza vaccine production base in Shenzhen. In the future, we will continue to promote the development of influenza health education and prevention and control in China, and escort the health journey of the general public in China.

It is understood that at present, there are trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine and tetravalent inactivated influenza vaccine approved for marketing in China. The Technical Guide for Influenza Vaccination in China (20 18-20 19) suggests that people who can vaccinate different types of vaccine products from different manufacturers can voluntarily vaccinate any kind of influenza vaccine, and there is no prior recommendation. Residents can make an appointment at the inoculation point of the community health service center and some private hospitals within their jurisdiction to get the flu vaccine.
