Shanghai Medical Devices College was founded by the Ministry of Health 1960, and was originally affiliated to the State Administration of Medicine, the State Food and Drug Administration of the United States and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It is the only independent full-time general higher vocational college in China that specializes in training high-skilled medical device talents. Known as the cradle of modern medical device engineers in China, 20 10 was rated as the backbone higher vocational college.
Shanghai Medical College, founded in 2005, is the "Excellent Education Training Plan" of the Ministry of Education. In 2006, it was rated as a national model higher vocational college by Shanghai Education Commission and Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine.
Shanghai Health Vocational and Technical College was established by Shanghai Education Commission and Shanghai Health Planning Commission. Its predecessor was Shanghai Staff Medical College founded in 1950, adjacent to East China University of Science and Technology. On 20 15, three universities merged to form Shanghai Health Medical College.
Up to now, the school has three campuses: Pudong, Yangpu and Xuhui. There are 10 undergraduate majors, 27 specialist majors, and10.5 million students. It is a large medical school.
