When we want to test the formaldehyde value at home, we often buy a formaldehyde testing instrument for testing. However, the existing formaldehyde detector is relatively simple to operate, just plug in the power supply or install the battery, and at the same time ensure that the essence and other flavors are taken out and the switch is turned on for detection. Some detectors need to be calibrated, and the detector value should be kept to zero in outdoor clean air before testing. The remaining operation steps are the same as those of the common detector.
However, the hand-held detector can't help us analyze and accurately detect the formaldehyde value at home! Formaldehyde detection is stipulated by relevant national laws, which is due to GB/T 18883-2002 and GB50325-2020. No matter which standard it is, the management clearly stipulates that formaldehyde testers should reasonably use spectrophotometry and gas chromatography to carry out technical detection on five numerical data of formaldehyde. But the hand-held detector can't meet the national standard.
Therefore, if you want to test the formaldehyde value at home, you should turn to CMA laboratory certified by the National Metrology Center or a professional formaldehyde testing company. Both methods meet the national standards. Just because of the different instrument specifications, the results obtained by professional formaldehyde detection companies generally have a result error of 5%- 10% compared with CMA laboratories. However, the formaldehyde value based on this value is also sufficient, while the non-standard detection value obtained by hand-held detector is completely different.
Therefore, if you want to test the formaldehyde content in your home, don't trust the results of formaldehyde detector and formaldehyde test paper easily, so as not to misjudge and endanger your health.
