The purpose of hearing test for all newborn babies is threefold: to select newborn babies and babies with congenital or infant hearing impairment when they are hospitalized and within 42 days, and to urge babies suspected of hearing impairment to receive structural mechanics and medical advice within 3 months after birth; The infants diagnosed with hearing impairment should be intervened by medical staff and engineering educators who have the professional skills and technology of hearing impairment for children before the age of 6 months.
Infants with delayed or progressive hearing impairment should undergo hearing structural mechanics and medical examination for 3 years, regardless of the conclusion of early hearing examination, so as to see and complete diagnosis and intervention as soon as possible. Early detection of hearing impaired patients, so that they can get appropriate intervention before the important age of language expression growth, so that the growth and development of language expression will not be harmed. In order to better reduce the harm of hearing impairment to babies, it is proposed that all newborn babies need to be tested for hearing.
There is no basis for newborn hearing screening, which does not mean that newborn babies have problems with English listening. The prevalence of hearing impairment in newborns is about 1‰~ 3‰ for normal newborns and 2% ~ 4% for high-risk newborns. If the newborn hearing test is not carried out, the hearing loss of the baby is not easy to be found, and the best treatment period is usually missed when it is found, resulting in irreversible harm to the baby.
