It needs to be judged comprehensively according to clinical manifestations. There are many factors that affect the direction of ECG axis, mainly in the following aspects:
① Body shape: Generally speaking, the electric axis of a chubby person's heart leans to the left, while that of a lanky person leans to the right.
② Age: Infants' ECG axis leans to the right, while the elderly's ECG axis leans to the left.
③ The position of the heart in the chest cavity: When the heart moves to the right, the ECG axis can be tilted to the right, otherwise it can be tilted to the left.
④ Weight ratio of left and right ventricles of the heart: The ECG axis of patients with right ventricular hypertrophy is often to the right, and that of patients with left ventricular hypertrophy is often to the left.
⑤ The conduction path of electrical pulse in the ventricle, that is, the functional state of bundle branches: when the left anterior branch is blocked, the electrical pulse may appear left deviation of the ECG axis, but when the left posterior branch is blocked, it will appear right deviation of the ECG axis.
