Legal basis: Measures for the Administration of Religious Institutions of the State Administration of Religious Affairs.
Article 1 In order to standardize the management of religious institutions and promote their healthy development, these Measures are formulated in accordance with the Regulations on Religious Affairs.
Article 2 Religious institutions as mentioned in these Measures refer to full-time educational institutions that train religious teachers and other religious professionals. According to the principle of separation of religion and education, religious institutions do not belong to the national education system. Religious education is applicable to religious circles.
Article 3 Religious institutions shall be established by national religious groups or religious groups in provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government. Founded by ethnic and religious groups, it is an ethnic and religious college; Established by religious organizations in provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government, it is a local religious college.
No other organization or individual may establish religious institutions.
