House M.D.
House, also known as House, is an American medical drama, which premiered on Fox TV Network on 1 1 6, 2004. The play was written by David Shore and supervised by Shore and film director Bryan Singer. The play revolves around Dr. Gregory House (played by British actor hugh laurie). He is a cynical medical genius, educated at Cornell University and Johns Hopkins Medical College, addicted to painkillers, and injured his leg due to wrong diagnosis. He leads a team of diagnostic experts at the fictional Princeton-Plansboro Teaching Hospital (PPTH). The premise of the play was created by Shore, who was inspired by the bad-tempered title character when he visited a teaching hospital. At first, Singh wanted an American to play House, but the audition of British actor hugh laurie convinced him that a foreign actor could play the role. Shore wrote House as a character similar to Sherlock Holmes. Both of them are forensic geniuses, musicians, drug addicts, indifferent and basically have no friends. The play was shot in Century City, although it took place in New Jersey.
Dr. House often comes into conflict with his boss, hospital administrator and medical dean, Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), and his diagnostic team, because his theories about patients' diseases are often based on subtle or controversial opinions. House's only real friend is Dr. james wilson, the head of oncology. House's initial diagnosis team consisted of Dr. Robert Chase (jesse spencer), Dr. Allison Cameron (jennifer morrison) and Dr. Eric Foreman (omar epps). At the end of the third season, the team was dissolved, and Dr. House gradually reduced 40 applicants to a new team, consisting of Dr. Furman, Dr. Remy Hadley (olivia wilde), Dr. Chris Tao Bo (Peter Jacobson) and Dr. Lawrence Koutna (Kal Penn), although Koutna committed suicide in the episode "A Simple Explanation". The original doctor still appeared in the whole series, Foreman was re-employed by House's team, Chase was a senior surgeon, and Cameron became the department head of the emergency room.
