Nutrition and Health Status of China Residents in 2022

Since the implementation of the national nutrition plan, the nutritional health status of Chinese residents has improved significantly, the gap between urban and rural areas has gradually narrowed, and the overall anemia rate of children and adolescents has also improved greatly. The overall level has been below 10%, and the growth rate is as low as 5%, and only 2% in some areas, especially in urban areas.

However, with the improvement of nutrition, new problems have emerged. The fat-energy ratio of the population has reached more than 35%, even more than 37% in some urban areas, exceeding the recommended fat-energy ratio of 20%-30%, and the corresponding physical activity has been declining, which leads to the increasing proportion of overweight and obesity in China.
