Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1956, formerly known as Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is one of the earliest four Chinese medicine colleges approved by the State Council. 1985 was identified as a provincial key institution of higher learning by the Sichuan provincial people's government, and renamed as 1995 with the approval of the State Education Commission.
