The oral health survey conducted by Peking University College of Public Health on students aged 12 ~ 15 in seven provinces, including Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi and Liaoning showed that the prevalence rate of deciduous teeth caries was 70.9% and that of permanent teeth caries was 36. 1%. Another oral health survey of students aged 3 1 province (autonomous region or municipality directly under the central government) 15 years completed by West China College of Stomatology of Sichuan University shows that the prevalence rate of dental caries among students aged 3 15 years in China is 34.52%.
These data show that there are more young people suffering from tooth decay in China. Therefore, the prevention and treatment of tooth decay is still an important problem for young people in China.
