Yunnan is a provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC), and the Tropic of Cancer runs through the south. It is adjacent to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guizhou Province in the east, facing Sichuan Province across the river by Jinsha River in the north, close to Xizang Autonomous Region in the northwest corner, Myanmar in the west, Laos and Vietnam in the south and southeast respectively. The total area is 394 1 10,000 square kilometers. By 2020, there will be 129 counties (cities, districts) in the whole province, including 17 municipal districts, 18 county-level cities, 65 non-ethnic autonomous counties and 29 ethnic autonomous counties. Yunnan is located in the southwest border of China, bordering Guangxi and Guizhou provinces in the east, Sichuan Province in the north and Xizang Autonomous Region in the northwest.
