1. Soil pollution leads to serious direct economic losses. According to preliminary statistics, there are about 6,543.8+million hectares of polluted farmland in China, and 36 million hectares of farmland are polluted by organic pollutants. The over-standard rate of pesticide residues in major agricultural products is as high as 654.38+06% ~ 20%. Sewage irrigation pollutes cultivated land by 2167,000 hm2, and solid waste storage covers an area of 654,380+0.33 million hm2. Every year, because of soil pollution, grain production is reduced by more than 10,000 tons 10, resulting in various economic losses of about 20 billion yuan.
2. Soil pollution leads to the continuous decline in the quality of biological products. Due to the application of chemical fertilizers in farmland, the soil in most urban suburbs has been polluted to varying degrees. In many places, the contents of heavy metals such as cadmium, arsenic, chromium and lead in food such as grain, vegetables and fruits have exceeded the standard or approached the critical value. Every year, the nitrogen converted into pollutants enters the environment as high as 6.5438 million tons, and nitrate and nitrite in agricultural products are seriously polluted. The area of soil polluted by agricultural film is more than 7.8 million hm2. The residual agricultural film will block the flow of soil capillary water, worsen soil physical properties, affect soil ventilation and water permeability, and affect crop yield and agricultural product quality.
3. Soil pollution is harmful to human health. Soil pollution will make pollutants accumulate in plants, enrich into people and animals through the food chain, endanger human health and cause diseases such as cancer.
4. Soil pollution leads to other environmental problems. After the soil is polluted, the polluted soil with high concentration of heavy metals can easily enter the atmosphere and water respectively under the action of wind and water, resulting in air pollution, surface water pollution, groundwater pollution, ecosystem degradation and other secondary ecological and environmental problems.
