The Code of Conduct for the Electronic Industry (EICC) has established various standards to ensure that the working environment of the supply chain of the electronic industry is safe, workers are respected and dignified, and enterprise operations are responsible for the environment.

The electronic industry referred to in this standard includes original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), electronic manufacturing services (EMs) companies and original design manufacturers (ODM), and contract workers who provide design, sales, manufacturing and/or goods and services for the production of electronic products. Any enterprise in the electronics industry can voluntarily adopt this standard and apply it to its supply chain and subcontractors.

In order to adopt this standard and become a participant (hereinafter referred to as "participant"), the enterprise shall issue a statement to support this standard and actively keep consistent with the management system proposed in this standard.

In order to successfully implement this standard, participants must actively apply it to the whole supply chain. At a minimum, participants should ask their subordinate suppliers to agree and apply this standard.

The basic principle of adopting this standard is that all activities of an enterprise must comply with the laws and regulations of the country/region where it operates. The code encourages participants to abide by the law and actively move towards internationally recognized standards in order to assume more social and environmental responsibilities.
