How to arrange the student seats in the new classroom after the curriculum reform?
(Reprinted) With the change of students' classroom learning style, cooperative learning has been promoted to the same position as independent inquiry, and even regarded as a symbol of the new curriculum reform. In order to adapt to classroom cooperation, the layout of desks has changed. In the past, the grouping method of subjects facing the front blackboard was unified, and it became a face-to-face grouping method for students. This pendulum has also caused controversy. Some teachers think that cooperative learning, grouping seats nearby, is convenient for discussion and cooperation, and there is no need to change; Some teachers think that it is more convenient for students to communicate with each other by working in groups and sitting face to face, and even give examples to illustrate the benefits of this practice: fewer people doze off in class. Some schools even use whether to change the arrangement of students' seats to judge whether they are carrying out curriculum reform. It seems necessary to study and clarify this issue. Among several schools with early curriculum reform and great influence, Dulangkou Middle School in Shandong adopts the posture of sitting face to face in groups, Yang Si Middle School in Jiangsu adopts the way of facing the blackboard in front, and Xu Middle School in Yueyang, Hunan adopts Dulangkou mode. In this way, there is no need to sit face to face in groups as a criterion for judging whether to carry out curriculum reform. On the contrary, if we don't really understand the concept of curriculum reform, fully implement the spirit of curriculum reform and implement it in a planned way, even if we sit face to face in groups, it will only be empty and can't really promote curriculum reform. As for the face-to-face group, students sleep less in class, which may be an individual case. Maybe the way of class has changed, and it is more vivid and interesting. Perhaps the faces that students see are richer and more agile, and the topics discussed are not necessarily closely related to the learning objectives of this class, so students are more excited. But we can see that many excellent school students are facing the blackboard in front of them, and no one is sleeping. It seems that it is still a question of students' quality. Is sitting face to face in groups to adapt to group cooperative learning? In the long-term practical exploration, we believe that in the middle and high school classroom, students should mainly carry out purposeful and planned independent inquiry learning under the guidance of teachers, and of course, temporary and short-term cooperative discussions are not excluded. Then, in independent inquiry activities, the traditional sitting method does not need to be changed, and temporary and short-term cooperation can change the seat. Because of the differences in students' personality, thinking methods and speed, the form of sitting face to face will influence each other in students' independent inquiry activities, which makes the thinking methods and processes of students in the same group too similar, thus damaging the effect of independent inquiry. Especially after students sit face to face in groups, half of them are facing back or facing back to the blackboard in front. Nowadays, multimedia teaching systems are installed in classrooms, and projection screens are also installed in the front corner. When students look at the teacher's lecture, they lean sideways and tilt their necks at a larger angle. I think when we watch TV, we are in the wrong place. After a long time, our neck hurts and our lumbar spine feels uncomfortable. Can students stand seven or eight classes a day? It is not advisable to harm students' health just for the change of form. It seems that for the healthy growth of students and the real implementation of the spirit and effect of curriculum reform, the arrangement of students' seats in classroom teaching cannot be changed casually. I also think, don't shake the students' seats, just turn around and form a group with your back to cooperate, communicate and study.
