Why is the growth of trees inversely proportional to the health of marine ecosystems?
Trees grow into an annual ring every year. By observing and analyzing the number of rings, scientists can determine the age of trees. The difference of tree rings reveals good season and bad season, and the larger diameter of tree rings implies that trees are in a better growing season. Researchers have found that there is an inverse relationship between tree growth and marine ecosystem health. In winter, we see the healthy growth of trees, but we find that the marine ecosystem is very poor.
