Do you need rabies vaccine when you are scratched by a healthy cat?

You don't need rabies vaccine to get scratched by a cat.

1. pet cats in urban areas are regularly vaccinated to repel insects;

2. Cats have a clear history and are kept at home, not free-range or semi-free-range;

3. The cat has not touched other sick cats and dogs, and has not been licked or injured by other animals;

4. The cat is healthy, has no disease or abnormal behavior, and has been scratched for reasons, such as pulling hard, teasing, protecting food and children or being hurt;

5. Cats are vaccinated with rabies vaccine;

6. After 10 days of scratching, the cat is as healthy and active as ever.

However, the wound must be treated immediately, cleaned with clean water or soapy water 15 minutes, and then disinfected alternately with iodine or medical alcohol for 2-3 times.
