Reflections on reading Article 82 "Caring for children's health is the most important job for educators"
Laizhou wenfeng high school cheng
Suho integrates children's health into teacher education. In the 82nd suggestion, he said, "If all my care and efforts for children during my four years in primary school are counted, at least half of my worries will be spent on children's health". To tell the truth, I personally have great respect for some primary school teachers who are now general practitioners. However, it is admirable to see that Su Huo cares about students' health outside his studies and further expands the scope of school education, making it a "global" education in a broad sense, with such advanced educational practice half a century ago.
Let's take a look at how Suho cares about children's health after four years of primary school.
One is to keep in constant contact with parents. Suho believes that extracurricular mental work should not make children overtired, but students can't do it without mental work at home. When talking with parents, he should guide students to keep a good mood at home, do homework exercises and deeply understand the teaching materials; It is also necessary to guide children to read poems, draw pictures, recite poems at home, and write small compositions to observe nature. At the same time, he also suggested that parents should let their children take part in outdoor sports, form the habit of going to bed early and getting up early, and form the habit of doing morning exercises. I think this should be to cultivate children's awareness of interest and rules.
The second is to pay attention to children's nutritional catering. Soho survey found that only about 22% preschool children meet the dietary standards. Loss of appetite makes students in a state of "hypoxia", which causes endocrine and digestive system diseases and affects the normal development of all parts of the body. In order to prevent this, Suho pays attention to make students' diets contain enough vitamins and combine vitamins and minerals in their food. These practices really have the meaning of serving dishes in our modern school canteen.
The third is to teach students to spend their winter and summer vacations outdoors. Suho has always been willing to lead students to observe and think in nature, such as the "thinking class" mentioned above. In the winter and summer vacation activities here, Soho mainly increases students' physical exercise and labor experience. Soho arranges students of all grades to have their own theme experience activities, such as skiing in winter vacation, hiking, orchard picking, horse riding on pasture, picnic cooking, grassland mowing, music evening, learning to swim and so on. Now it seems that these experiential activities not only exercise students' bodies, but also increase their life skills and broaden their horizons, which is equivalent to our comprehensive practical activities now.
Fourth, attach importance to sports games. Suho has attached great importance to the sports meeting since the students entered the school. Swing, play table tennis, throw discus and shot put, climb poles and ropes, and even teach students to walk barefoot in summer to enhance their cold resistance. The purpose of these sports games is to enhance students' physical health, enhance their self-confidence in sports and promote the harmony and unity of children's physical development and spiritual development.
In fact, we now know that students' health refers to physical and mental health, including physical health and mental health. Physical health refers to developing a strong physique and acquiring basic sports skills through physical exercise. Those with sports expertise can join professional sports teams. Mental health refers to maintaining a normal mental state in communication, cooperation and competition, winning without arrogance, losing with grace, not giving up, and having a persistent mental state. In the "Core Literacy of Chinese Students' Development" released on September 3, 20 16, 13, six core literacy of students were established around the core of "all-round development". On the level of "independent development", there are two qualities: "learning to learn" and "healthy living". Comparatively speaking, "healthy life" is my opinion.
Below, let's understand the specific requirements of the "healthy life" dimension in the core literacy of Chinese students. "Healthy living" includes the following three points.
The first point is to cherish life: students are required to understand the meaning and value of life; Have safety awareness and self-protection ability; Master the exercise methods and skills that suit you, and develop healthy and civilized behavior habits and lifestyles. Among them, the requirements of mastering sports methods and skills and developing healthy and civilized behavior habits and lifestyles are consistent with Soho's requirements for health. On this basis, we have enhanced our safety awareness and expanded our thinking on the meaning and value of life. In view of this, today's physical education class has evolved into topics such as sports and health, life and health, and the course of "life planning" has been added to the local curriculum of grade four, with the overall purpose of guiding and cultivating "healthy life".
The second point is a sound personality: positive psychological quality, self-confidence, self-love, tenacity and optimism; Have self-control, can adjust and manage their emotions, and have the ability to resist setbacks. As we all know, the concept of core literacy refers to the essential character and key ability that students should have to meet the needs of lifelong development and social development. Among them, "necessary character" belongs to the moral category in a wide range, but it also includes the important basic dimension of "sound personality". Now, on the basis of Soho's "health education", we have added another factor of mental health, with the aim of cultivating students to form perfect personality characteristics in line with communication, cooperation and competition in modern society. "Perseverance in optimism, self-control and ability to resist setbacks" should be the basic requirement of educating students in our daily work.
The third point is self-management: being able to correctly understand and evaluate yourself; Choose the right development direction according to your own personality and potential; Reasonable allocation and use of time and energy; Have continuous actions to achieve goals, etc. Su Huo pointed out in Article 79 of Education and Self-education that self-education is a spiritual need of students and an activity experience, and the "self-management" here has some characteristics of self-education. In the "evaluation of curriculum reform" carried out in our school, the head teacher evaluates once a week in combination with the performance of students' group cooperation, praises the winners, finds out the problems and puts forward rectification measures, so that each student can feel his sense of identity and belonging in the class and arouse the enthusiasm of each group for cooperation and competition. "Evaluation of curriculum reform" has now developed into the construction of "same class culture", and group cooperation has risen to the management of "class system". The class teacher coordinates the distribution of tasks among the groups through the class ministries, which improves the students' self-care, autonomy and self-reliance ability. In fact, our class management model is an exploration way for students to manage themselves.
Today, we use "physical and mental health" to cover Suho's concept of "children's health" and give consideration to students' physical and mental health. Education's understanding of health can be roughly divided into three stages: physical health, mental health, and concern for the meaning and value of one's own life. But personally, I think that it may be "big and empty" for underage junior middle school students to realize the significance of paying attention to life; I think that on the basis of paying attention to students' physical and mental health, students can express the beauty of exercise and appreciation, which shows that physical and mental health education is successful. When Su Huo described outdoor activities in winter and summer vacations in his article, he specifically cited two examples: holding a concert at night, tasting composers and their masterpieces, and enjoying the beauty of art with students; Lie on the haystack and count the stars. Ask the source of the sun, moon and stars, and let the students feel the infinity of the universe. This is the aesthetic view that Suho guides students. This feature can also be found in our core literacy idea. One dimension is "humanistic background", and one of the main points is "aesthetic taste", which means: the accumulation of artistic knowledge, skills and methods; Can understand and respect the diversity of culture and art, and have the consciousness and basic ability to discover, perceive, appreciate and evaluate beauty; Have a healthy aesthetic value orientation; Interest and consciousness of artistic expression and creative expression can expand and sublimate beauty in life. From last autumn to this spring, the school held two sports meetings, specially organized the opening ceremony, and incorporated "urban culture" and "national culture" into the entrance ceremony respectively. A class is a city and a class is a nation. The students collected their cultural characteristics, displayed their cultural characteristics, expanded their understanding of urban culture and national culture, and felt the rapid development of the motherland and the United beauty of the Chinese nation. Not only in the teaching of music, physical education and beauty, but also in the teaching of other cultural disciplines, we should create situations to guide students to feel the beauty of knowledge, method, creation, nature, life and art properly. So in my opinion, we should first do a good job in physical and mental health education, then do a good job in aesthetic interest education, and finally rise to pay attention to the meaning and value of life.
