Ma Lixun and milian founded China's first modern newspaper, The Biography of Chase Cole, in Malacca, with Liang Fa as the sculptor and publisher, and wrote articles for the newspaper under the pseudonym of Xue Xue. 18 19, when he returned to his hometown, he wrote a brief description of the Salvation Record to encourage China people to believe in Christianity.

I was born in Xiamen, Chinese mainland. When I was two years old, my family accepted the gospel. A year later, my father died and I became an orphan. What I remember deeply is that when I was seven or eight years old, when I got up every morning, the first sentence I heard was always the voice of my faithful and devout mother praying to God. When I looked down from the sky, a very clear idea emerged-he died for me, bled for me, was cursed for me, was judged by God for me, and was crucified for me. When I saw that everything was so beautiful, I suddenly found that people walking on the road were the most pitiful, because they were busy in this world, but they didn't know what to do after death. Who preached the gospel to them? On the third day after this happened, I heard the touch of God in my heart and the sound of knocking at my door.
