How is bamboo fiber made?

Bamboo fiber is divided into bamboo fiber and bamboo pulp fiber.

Bamboo raw fiber is bamboo directly treated by cooking and alkali to remove other substances between bamboo fibers and separate fibers through physical processes. This kind of fiber is composed of many short single fibers, which are relatively thick. Because it contains a lot of lignin, it is also hard. So at present, it can't really be used to spin yarns that can be used as clothing fabrics.

At present, what is really sold on the market is actually bamboo pulp fiber, which is viscose fiber. Viscose fiber actually belongs to chemical fiber. It's not synthetic fiber. Synthetic fiber is petrochemical product. The production process of bamboo pulp fiber is basically to make bamboo pulp first, and then through chemical reactions such as sulfonation in chemical fiber factory, it is spun into fibrous substances with special spinning equipment. And then cut into lengths that meet the needs of spinning, and bamboo fiber is made. Therefore, bamboo fiber is a product produced by chemical fiber factory. Because the chemical reaction has entered the molecular level, the original properties of bamboo no longer exist, and its function is no different from that of ordinary cotton pulp fiber (that is, conventional viscose fiber). At present, the process of producing viscose fiber has made great progress, and the produced viscose fiber has hollow characteristics, so the hollow process is used in business to promote the respiratory function of bamboo fiber. This is actually just a commercial stunt.
