Nursing procedure refers to a series of nursing activities aimed at improving or restoring human health. It is a special way of thinking and action; It is a systematic problem-solving process to discover, prevent and solve existing or potential health problems; It provides a framework for nurses to use knowledge and skills to carry out nursing work.
Nursing procedure needs corresponding supporting theories, such as general system theory, basic human needs hierarchy theory, communication theory, adaptation theory and so on. These theories are applied to different steps of nursing procedure, such as communication theory applied to nursing evaluation and medicine. The hierarchy theory of human basic needs is applicable to the arrangement order of nursing diagnosis and the formulation of nursing plan, and the general system theory constitutes the framework of nursing procedure.
As an open system, nursing program interacts with the surrounding environment. The patient's health status is an input information. Through evaluation, planning and implementation, the patient's health status information is output, and whether the plan is correct is confirmed by the nursing evaluation results.
If the patient fails to reach the health goal, it is necessary to collect data again and modify the plan. Medical education network will not stop collecting and sorting out nursing procedures until patients reach the expected goal. Therefore, the nursing program is a cyclic system engineering.
