On the Relationship between Moral Education and Mental Health Education of Middle School Students

First, moral education plays a guiding role in mental health education. The purpose of moral education is to make its educational objects establish scientific concepts such as world outlook, outlook on life, morality and values, which requires its educational objects to have psychological qualities such as emotion, need, motivation and interest. In this sense, moral education is the forerunner of mental health education.

Second, mental health education helps to improve the effectiveness of moral education. First of all, mental health education is the foundation of school moral education. Mental health education, one of which is to conduct psychological tests on students, scientifically understand their learning interests, learning attitudes, learning motivations, learning ability, personality hobbies, interpersonal relationships and other characteristics, so that the school's moral education work can be carried out in a targeted manner. It is difficult for a mentally unhealthy person to develop good moral quality. Secondly, mental health education improves the effect of moral education. Mental health education, one of which is to carry out psychological training activities for students, through a series of psychological training activities, tap their potential, improve their self-emotional control ability, realize a correct understanding and evaluation of themselves, establish good interpersonal relationships and cultivate a sound personality.

Thirdly, mental health education expands the content of moral education. In the past, school moral education was mainly composed of three parts: moral education, political education and ideological education. Political education and ideological education are the goals, and moral education is the foundation. At present, school moral education is mainly composed of ideological education, political education, moral education and psychological education. Ideological education is the forerunner, political education is the core, moral education is the focus, and psychological education is the foundation. These four aspects are interrelated and mutually restricted, which are all helpful to cultivate "sound" people.

4. Mental health education is closely related to moral education. Mental health education cannot exist independently without moral education. It more reflects the internal activities aimed at forming personality characteristics. The improvement of students' ideological and political level and the cultivation of good behavior habits require schools to strengthen moral education, but some of students' understanding or behavior habits are not only manifested as ideological and moral problems, but also reflect psychological problems in most cases. In education, if we only emphasize the requirements of external socialization without psychological counseling to students' inner world, so as to promote students' self-development and the formation of personality characteristics, it often has little effect. For example, from a macro point of view, patriotism and collectivism education are the basic contents of moral education, which is very necessary for students to form a good ideological and moral level. However, how to internalize this socialization requirement into students' quality and form a complete personality needs guidance from students' psychological reality.

In a word, mental health education and moral education are integrated. Mental health education is an important means to internalize the socialization requirements of moral education into the internal qualities of individuals. It is of great significance to infiltrate mental health education into moral education without losing time to ensure the scientificity and effectiveness of moral education.
