How to maintain watches in summer?

It is suggested that middle and high-end watches should be maintained once every two to three years, such as replacing waterproof parts, testing the running performance and power consumption of the movement, cleaning the movement and maintaining the appearance. This kind of maintenance service will effectively extend the service life of your watch.

(1) When wearing a watch, the sweat on your hands is corrosive to the case. All-steel case has better corrosion resistance because it is made of nickel-chromium alloy, and semi-steel case is made of copper, which is easy to corrode after long-term contact with sweat. You should always wipe off sweat with a soft cloth or pad a plastic watch stand to prevent it from being eroded by sweat.

(2) Don't open the back cover of the watch at will to avoid dust entering the movement and affecting the normal work of the watch.

(3) Don't put the watch in the wardrobe with mothballs, so as not to spoil the watch oil.

(4) Don't put the watch on the power amplifier, stereo and TV to avoid magnetization.

(5) Watches that are not worn for a long time should be wound regularly once a month, and watches with automatic movement should be gently swung back and forth for a few minutes or worn on the wrist for a period of time to make them automatically wound. Parts will not be in a static state for a long time, thus ensuring the running performance of the watch machine.

(6) Ordinary mechanical watches are wet. You can press dry cotton on the watch, then bake it with a 40-watt bulb for 5 minutes, and all the water in the watch can evaporate. If the electronic watch is affected by tide, take some small pieces of calcium chloride and wrap it with gauze; Then open the cover of the electronic watch, put the wrapped calcium chloride and the electronic watch into an airtight plastic bag or glass bottle and seal it. Generally, it takes about 3 hours to remove moisture and make the electronic watch return to normal. For watches with severe moisture, the moisture absorption time can be appropriately extended.

(7) When you receive your beloved watch and remove the outer packaging, you must keep the packaging box used to protect the watch. These watch protection boxes can provide the safest protection for the watch when it is not worn, and prevent the watch from being broken or collided. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to keep the box. It is recommended to put it in the box when you don't wear the watch on weekdays, which can greatly reduce the probability of watch damage.

(8) Under normal circumstances, it is best not to wear the same watch every day. You should prepare several different watches to use alternately, which can not only enrich your personal style, but also avoid dust and dirt from being concentrated on the same watch. For leather straps, attention should be paid to avoid frequent wear and tear caused by daily use, so that even if the surface is new, the watch will look very old.

(9) Wear a watch and sleep on your wrist. If the watch is a luminous watch, it will bring bad effects to your health. This is because the luminous materials coated on the hands and dials of luminous watches are mainly a mixture of radium and zinc sulfide. Radiation from radium can excite zinc sulfide crystal to emit light. When you sleep, if you wear a watch, your body will be exposed to radium radiation for eight to nine hours, which is harmful to your body. So it's best to take off the luminous watch and put it on the table before going to bed.

(10) Surface covering renovation. After a lot of lines are scratched on the watch cover, you can drop a drop or two of water on the cover first, and then squeeze a little toothpaste to wipe it, so that the lines can be removed and the cover can be as new. Note: The identification of copper watchcases can be divided into gold shell, steel shell, aluminum shell, copper shell, titanium shell, alloy shell, plastic shell and wood shell. Usually, we contact, use and choose the watches with all-steel case and strap the most. However, you may not know that many watches advertised as all-steel cases are actually copper cases. Compared with all-steel watches, the manufacturing cost of copper cases (including straps) will be several times lower and the profit margin will be greater. Therefore, many businesses will make a big fuss about this point, "filling steel with copper" as bait to attract buyers' attention at a very low price. Therefore, here is a brief introduction to the method of distinguishing between all-steel tables and semi-steel tables:

A, the coating of all-steel shell is bright and dark, with rounded edges and corners and no sharp feeling. The copper shell is bright white and sharp behind the ear. Generally, you can clearly see the annular grain formed by the cutter behind your ear. And the lines are different in depth and size, and the arrangement is loose and uneven. The lines of the all-steel case are delicate and symmetrical, and arranged closely and neatly.

B. Gently scrape the corner of the ear with a knife in a short distance (it can be checked inside the back of the ear). If the inside is yellow, it is a copper shell.

C, poor corrosion resistance of copper shell. If it is not properly maintained, it is easy for the coating to fade (yellow or red), blister or peel after a period of use.
