Occupational hazards refer to various hazards that may lead to occupational diseases for workers engaged in occupational activities. Occupational hazard factors include: various harmful chemical, physical and biological factors existing in occupational activities, as well as other occupational hazards generated in the process of operation.

Occupational hazard factors can be divided into many kinds, including: all kinds of harmful chemicals (such as organic solvent poisons, lead, manganese and other metal poisons, dust and so on. ) and physics (such as noise, high frequency, microwave, ultraviolet, X-ray, etc. ) exists in professional activities.

According to Article 20 of the Regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC) and No.5 Order of the National Health and Wellness Committee, the employer with serious occupational hazards shall entrust an occupational health technical service institution with corresponding qualifications to carry out occupational hazard detection at least once a year, and evaluate the current situation of occupational hazards at least once every three years.

The employing unit with general occupational hazards shall entrust an occupational health technical service institution with corresponding qualifications to conduct occupational hazard factor detection at least once every three years.
