"Joy begets sorrow" is the sixth of the twelve songs in A Dream of Red Mansions, sung by Shi Xiangyun. The so-called "joy begets sorrow" means that there is crisis in prosperity and sadness in joy.

When I was a baby, my parents lamented their death.
Living in the jungle, who knows how to pet it?
Fortunately, natural heroes are generous and never care about their children's affairs.
In that way, the moonlight in Yutang is bright, and this fellow deserves both talent and appearance.
If you win forever, you will definitely fold up the ups and downs of your childhood.
Finally, the clouds disappeared and the water dried up the Xiangjiang River.
This is how many ups and downs in the world, so why be sad!

The first two sentences, "When I was a baby, my parents sighed and died, and I was living a new life, but I didn't know how to love her", describe that although Shi Xiangyun was born in a rich family, she lost her father's love and mother's love since her parents died, and no one protected her and loved her.
The following three sentences: "Fortunately, heroes are generous and never care about their children's affairs. Just like it, the moonlight shines brightly on the jade hall, which depicts Shi Xiangyun's generous, lively and optimistic, unrestrained and quite boyish personality characteristics. "The author describes her personality characteristics with admiration, saying that her personality is as beautiful and lovely as the moonlight reflecting the jade hall. It is fortunate to have such a character after the early death of parents.
In A Dream of Red Mansions, Shi Xiangyun is the liveliest girl in the Grand View Garden. Her greatest feature is "heroic, generous and generous", and she has never been saddened by young children. In the last three sentences, the author thinks that Shi Xiangyun has such a personality, his talent is not under Xue Baochai and Lin Daiyu, and he deserves to have a husband who loves him all his life to make up for his childhood misfortune. However, things are always unsatisfactory. "The final cloud is high and the Tang Dynasty is high, and the water is dry in Xiangjiang River." Married life is not happy. Shi Xiangyun is an open-minded person and will be open-minded about it. Therefore, he concluded: "This is the number of ups and downs in the world, so why be sad!" It can be seen that the ending of Xiangyun is also tragic.
Shi Xiangyun and Lin Daiyu have similar experiences, but completely different personalities. Lin Daiyu was so sad that she became ill and cried all day. Shi Xiangyun, however, is healthy and lively, loves to talk and laugh, and has a bit of a tongue bite. She called "Second Brother" "Brother Ai", which made Lin Daiyu laugh.
