An unhealthy case

Eating junk food for a long time can easily lead to physical problems.

The new study found for the first time that the mother's excessive diet will do harm to the health of the last three generations. The intake of processed foods such as hamburgers, pizzas, fried chicken pieces and French fries may not make the mother obese, but it will change the mother's genes and pass them on to future generations, which may also apply to the father.

Extended data:

A new study found that the health hazards of junk food can be passed on to three generations, that is to say, your present bite will affect your great-grandchildren.

Researchers at the University of Zurich in Switzerland conducted a 9-week controlled experiment on female mice. One group of female rats ate a high-fat diet before pregnancy, during pregnancy and during lactation, while the other group ate a standard diet.

The researchers measured the body weight, insulin sensitivity, metabolic rate and cholesterol level of the second to fourth generation female mice. The results showed that female mice in the high-fat diet group could inherit many metabolic diseases including obesity and diabetes from generation to generation, which endangered the health of their offspring.

Dr Le Bustam emphasized that early prevention is very important to deal with the increasingly serious global obesity problem. Parents are advised to reduce the intake of junk food as much as possible and try to avoid eating foods with high sugar, high salt and high fat content.
