What is the National Health Commission?

The National Health and Wellness Committee is a component of the State Council, which was established on the basis of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and integrated the health management functions undertaken by other departments.

The main duties of the National Health Commission are to formulate national health policies, coordinate and promote the deepening of the reform of the medical and health system, organize the formulation of the national basic drug system, supervise and manage public health, medical services and health emergencies, be responsible for family planning management and services, and formulate policies and measures to deal with the aging population and the combination of medical care and nursing.
