Operation flow of electrocardiogram examination

The operation process of ECG test is as follows:

1. Patient preparation

Let the patient take off his upper body clothes to ensure that his chest and limbs can be exposed. Clean and dry the skin in the measurement area to ensure good electrode contact. Remind the patient to keep quiet during the measurement. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is a common examination method to record and evaluate cardiac electrical activity.

2. Install electrodes and wires

Use chest leads: Stick 6 electrodes (v 1 ~ V6) at specific positions of the patient's chest, namely, the right clavicle midline, the left clavicle midline, the right side of the fourth intercostal space, the left side of the fourth intercostal space, the left side of the fifth intercostal space and the left side of the sixth intercostal space. Use limb leads: paste three electrodes at corresponding positions, namely RA (right arm), LA (left arm) and LL (left leg).

3. Carry out ECG measurement

Connect the lead to the electrocardiograph to ensure the connection is stable. Start ECG instrument and calibrate it to ensure good signal quality. Start the recording function and keep the patient still until the recording is completed.

4. Interpretation of ECG results

The ECG results will show the curve of cardiac electrical activity, including P wave, QRS complex wave and T wave. Doctors or technicians will analyze these characteristics and interpret ECG results to assess the health of the heart. According to the abnormal electrocardiogram, doctors can further diagnose heart diseases or monitor the therapeutic effect.

5. ECG record preservation and archiving.

After completing the ECG recording, the technician will save the electronic or paper ECG file. These records are usually stored in the database of medical institutions and can be consulted and referenced at any time. The archiving of ECG records is helpful for future follow-up, comparative analysis and treatment decision.

The operation process of ECG examination is one of the important skills in the medical field, and accurate operation and interpretation of the results are very important for correct diagnosis and treatment. Before ECG operation, the operator must master the relevant knowledge and skills, and operate in strict accordance with the prescribed steps and operating specifications to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the measurement results.
