Is frozen shrimp nutritious?

Shrimp is divided into sea shrimp, river shrimp and lake shrimp. Relatively speaking, the latter two are often seen at the dinner table. The most valuable shrimp from the sea is lobster, which is also very big. Shrimp is often boiled in water or fried directly. Many areas even eat it raw, but it is not very hygienic. So, is frozen shrimp very nutritious to eat?

Generally, nutrition will be lost after freezing. It is best to buy and eat now, and don't freeze for a long time.

Nutritional value of shrimp;

1. Shrimp contains 20% protein, which is one of the foods with high content in protein, several times or even ten times that of fish, eggs and milk. Compared with fish, shrimp contains the essential amino acid valine, but it is a balanced source of protein. In addition, shrimp contains glycine, and the higher the content of this amino acid, the higher the sweetness of shrimp.

2. Compared with fish and poultry, shrimp contains less fat, almost no animal sugar as an energy source, higher cholesterol and rich taurine, which can reduce human serum cholesterol. Shrimp is rich in trace elements such as potassium, iodine, magnesium, phosphorus and vitamin A.

Distinguish the quality of frozen shrimp;

1. Look at the shape

Fresh shrimp has a complete head and tail and is closely connected with the body. The shrimp body is quite hard and has a certain curvature. Stale shrimp, the head and body, shell and meat are loosely connected, and the head and tail are easy to fall off or separate, which can not maintain its original curvature. After the shrimp is refrigerated, there is no close adhesion between the intestine and the meat. We found that the shrimp sausage and meat are loose, which means that the shrimp is not dead, but fresh.

Look at the color

Fresh shrimps are shiny, river shrimps are blue-green, and prawns are blue-white (female shrimp) or egg-yellow (male shrimp). Stale shrimp, the shell is black, and the primary color of shrimp turns red or grayish purple.

Check the meat quality

Fresh shrimp, the meat is firm and tender, and it feels hard and elastic by hand. Stale shrimp meat is soft and has poor elasticity.

Smell

The smell of fresh shrimp is normal and there is no peculiar smell. If it smells bad, it's bad shrimp.

Touch the shell

Shrimp shells must be hard, blue and bright, with prominent eyes, firm meat and heavy fishy smell. If the shell is soft, the color is gray and turbid, the eyes are concave, and the shell and meat are slightly separated, indicating that the shrimp has just died.
