The meaning of inner senses

There used to be a movie called Inner Senses. According to my random opinion, the "inner sense" recorded in the volume means that the place where the light can't shine is the space where ghosts haunt and exist in the positive space promoted from the normal and healthy existence of human beings.

We all have an experience at ordinary times. Some houses just make us confused, depressed but unable to find the reason, inconvenient but inexplicable, and so on. Until it can't be named accurately, it is called different living spaces. Then, those houses that usually bother us, which are confused, depressed, uncomfortable, inhuman and unhealthy, will belong. From now on, the problem of healthy human settlements that we are concerned about can be highlighted through this concept. From then on, we can expose the space that affects people's psychological and physical health in a non-dominant state in residential design, and get more attention and attention.

As the newspaper media disclosed that the residential space of Amoy Garden in Hong Kong was improperly designed, the wind gate effect caused by it virtually blocked the narrow patio of 1.5 meters between the two buildings, which led to the lingering tiny virus droplets discharged into the patio and could only flow up and down, which increased the chances of entering other floors, thus leading to the outbreak of SARS. Both inside and outside the real estate industry began to pay attention to the spatial health of residential buildings. At the same time, it also proves that we neglected the real health of living space before.

Then the sales brochure is full of "people-oriented spirit" and "principles of public and private zoning, dynamic and static zoning and clean zoning". It is sunny, well ventilated and has a wide field of vision. "What do these words mean? It's just a rigid production of the words in the architectural book, but it's meaningless.

In fact, we have done the least in the field of residential space design. Copy-and-paste apartment design pays too much attention to vanity enclosure design, beautiful and airtight closed large French window, large lawn instead of multi-tree garden design, and lacks high-rise residential buildings that communicate with outdoor space. Due to the spread of SARS, these obvious health problems have aroused public concern. However, another aspect of healthy living space has not been paid attention to, that is, mental health, such as married women's experience of living space, such as the impact of living space on neighborhood relations and so on.

A healthy living space contains two elements: mental health and functional health. With the development of economy, mutual replacement has become the basic point of residential design. With the baptism of the commercial society, the traditional folk houses in China pay too much attention to the spiritual bias, which leads to too much attention to the superficial function. A truly healthy living space design should achieve a perfect balance between the spiritual level and the functional level.

The space design of American housing reflects the new trend of housing design. Unlike few architects who design houses professionally in China, American architects are very professional, and there has been such an organization as the Association of Professional Architects since World War II. Due to the advantages of specialization, American residential architects have enriched the exploration of theory and practice in all aspects of residential design, and have become more mature in grasping the design details and creating artistry and sense of life. Contemporary American designers no longer divide the space into bedrooms, living rooms and bathrooms like China, but divide the indoor space into five areas according to functional areas. The division of five functional areas makes the house scientifically reflect the law of space utilization in daily life, which is a very valuable innovation in architectural design, reflecting the higher spiritual and psychological needs of modern people and being more considerate of human nature.

Architect I.M. Pei said: "Architects are different from artists. He is constrained in many ways. He must create a living environment, which must adapt to the times. " Although our rough times have created many different living spaces, we can see that the pursuit of healthy housing is leading the mainstream of the times.
