I often hear the word sub-health on TV. What is sub-health?

Sub-health refers to a state in which the human body is between health and disease.

The daily manifestations of sub-health people are mostly obvious symptoms of the decline of activity, function and adaptability in a certain period of time, but these do not meet the diagnostic criteria of modern medicine for sub-health.

Sub-health is also called "sub-health, third state, intermediate state, wandering state, …", and the common symptoms are memory loss, inattention, slow thinking and slow response. Sub-healthy people often have symptoms of bad mood, lack of self-confidence and insecurity.

Domestic research on sub-health is mostly limited to cross-sectional survey. Such as teachers, civil servants, enterprise personnel, medical personnel, community residents and other people, in the form of self-assessment scale or questionnaire survey. Because the questionnaires of sub-health definition adopted by various studies are not uniform, the results are different, and the final research is also very different. The detection rate of sub-health will be different in gender, age and occupation, mostly between 20% and 80%, which has nothing to do with birthplace and national belief. The survey shows that the detection rate of women is higher than that of men, and it is high in the age group of 40-50, and teachers and civil servants are high-risk positions.

Research shows that the main causes of sub-health are irregular diet, lack of exercise, poor sleep quality, mental stress, excessive psychological pressure, long-term bad mood and so on.

The clinical manifestations of sub-health are varied and mainly divided into three categories. 1, fatigue, sleep disorder, physical pain and other symptoms; 2. Symptoms of mental and psychological factors, such as depression, impatience, decreased attention and memory; 3. The frequency of interpersonal communication is reduced, and interpersonal tension and social adaptability are reduced. All the above three are common symptoms of sub-health.

Some scholars think that sub-health is similar to chronic fatigue syndrome abroad, and both are physiological and psychological symptoms characterized by chronic fatigue, but others hold different opinions. Chronic fatigue syndrome: clinical evaluation, unexplained, persistent or recurrent chronic fatigue for 6 months or more. Although sub-health in China is similar to chronic fatigue syndrome abroad, there are still differences.

Improving sub-health can start from the following five aspects: First, improving lifestyle mainly depends on regular work and rest and diet. Second, adhere to reasonable exercise and fitness. Third, complementary food can be low in sugar, fat and salt, and eat less spicy, greasy, irritating and cold food. Fourth, you can refer to the doctor's advice, cite appropriate drugs as an aid (suitable for people with severe symptoms, but suggest that your body should be better conditioned), and drink more water at ordinary times to promote your body's metabolism. 5. Keep a good mood, read more books to cultivate sentiment, broaden your mind, cultivate hobbies, find a way and a thing to express your feelings, invest energy and creativity, and thus enhance your self-confidence and love life.
