What is hand diagnosis? Is it palm reading? Can you really know what's wrong by looking at your hands? With the increasing application of hand diagnosis as a diagnostic method, these problems are also in front of everyone.
Hand diagnosis refers to a method to diagnose diseases by observing the changes of palm print, palm color and palm shape. It is essentially different from palm reading. According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the human body is an organic whole, and the part and the whole are dialectical unity. The two are closely related and inseparable. Therefore, when diseases occur locally in the human body, they often react in other parts of the human body. "Huangdi Neijing Lingshu Ben Cang" records: "If you do something inside, you must do something outside" and "If you know its viscera, you will know its disease". As a branch of traditional Chinese medicine, hand diagnosis has existed since ancient times. "Lingshu Jing" records: "The stomach is cold and the hands are blue; Stomach heat, fish red; Violent black people will stay for a long time ... ". In the Qing Dynasty, the method of diagnosing and treating diseases through the palm was described in detail in "Generalized Massage for Children".
Hand diagnosis has a long history not only in China, but also in the world. Aristotle, an ancient Greek philosopher, once wrote The Palms of Aristotle, which had a far-reaching influence on later generations. In 1970s, the book Skin Texture and Diseases by American scholars described the relationship between palmprint and diseases in detail.
Since ancient times, people have been exploring the relationship between hand and disease. What diseases can you see from your hands? According to the author's observation, most diseases have certain manifestations on their hands. When the human body suffers from or will suffer from a certain disease, lines and colors with different characteristics often appear in specific parts of the patient's hand. This paper briefly introduces the palmprint and palmcolor of several common diseases.
1. Many people with heart disease have one or several deep vertical stripes at the thenar (under the thumb and at the muscle bulge); If the myocardial blood supply is insufficient, the whole thenar will turn blue or even purple.
2. Red black spots are easy to appear near the metacarpophalangeal joints in patients with hypertension, and red beaded black spots will appear in severe cases; Patients with low blood pressure are prone to blue or white black spots near the metacarpophalangeal joints of the middle finger.
3. People who have a bad sleep for a long time have a zigzag shape at the junction of the center of the palm root and the transverse stripes of the wrist.
4. People with weak digestive function are prone to chain lines in their palms. Patients with chronic gastritis (superficial and atrophic) often have island lines in the middle of their palms (near Laogong point).
5. If the patient suffers from pneumonia or tuberculosis, the "#" pattern often appears under the ring finger or little finger (at the metacarpophalangeal joint), and at the same time, red dots appear.
6. Patients with hyperglycemia often have swelling and swelling of thenar.
7. Before and after menstruation, flushing often occurs in thenar (near the palm root under the little finger). After the menstrual period, the red color will fade. If there is obvious color change during non-menstrual period, it is often a sign of endocrine disorders.
Although most diseases have certain manifestations on the hands, there are also individual differences. Some patients were diagnosed clearly, but there were no manifestations in the relevant areas of the hand. There was once a hypertensive patient whose blood pressure was170/110mmhg, but the color state of his hand blood pressure area did not change. Therefore, it is best to combine hand diagnosis with other diagnostic methods to improve the accuracy of diagnosis.
