Children's hearing health test

Guide: The baby's hearing health is very important, so parents should carefully observe the changes in the baby's hearing development and do regular hearing tests to see if the baby has any hearing abnormalities. So, how should the hearing of newborn babies be tested?

First, the method of testing the baby's auditory behavior test: that is, carefully observe the child's behavioral response to sounds such as standard tones and pure tones. Behaviors include the baby blinking, the child turning his head and so on. Physiological test: strictly speaking, it is not a listening test, but some indirect methods to evaluate listening ability. These tests are used for children who are young, stunted or have other diseases and are not suitable for behavioral tests. Common physiological tests include auditory brainstem response test (ABR), auditory steady-state response test (ASSR), otoacoustic emission test (OAE) and tympanic membrane pressure measurement.

Two, regular hearing examination, before the full moon, three months, six months at least once in each stage. The hearing test before the full moon is mainly to find out whether the baby has hearing loss; Have a checkup when you are 3 months old to make sure your child has no hearing problems. Once a problem is found, you can know the type and severity of the problem in time. It is also necessary to check once every six months. If there is hearing loss, as long as the treatment is timely, language ability and learning ability can be remedied. The whole examination requires the child to be in a deep sleep state. Parents should do the following: let their children sleep as little as possible before coming to the hospital, don't let their children sleep for 2 hours before going to the hospital, and play with them when they are young. You need to take medicine (chloral hydrate) to help you sleep before examination. Due to the need of medication, do not breast-feed your child within 1 hour before medication.

If the baby doesn't respond to the sound or is too quiet, it may be that he has a hearing problem and needs to go to a specialist hospital for further examination. If you are diagnosed with hearing impairment, wear hearing AIDS for training as soon as possible to avoid affecting language development.
