Tortoise, an animal belonging to the genus Tortoise, is an ancient reptile, which has been listed in Appendix III of the Washington Convention. Mainly distributed in China, Japan, Brazil and North Korea.
The tortoise's head is very small, and it is not as wide as 1/4 of the carapace. The front of the head is smooth, and the skin on the back has fine granular scales [1]. The angle between the left and right odontoid bones of mandible is less than 90. Most sea turtles are carnivores, feeding on worms, snails, shrimp and small fish, as well as stems and leaves of plants.
Often inhabit rivers, lakes or ponds. Eat worms, snails, shrimp, small fish and other animals, but also eat plant leaves and grains. Mating begins in late April and takes place at night; May-August is the spawning period, and spawning is completed three or four times a year, with 5-7 eggs per hole; Before laying eggs, the female turtle digs a hole in the loose soil on the sunny and cool shore with her hind legs, lays her eggs in the hole, and covers the loose soil on the eggs after laying them. Oval, hard and grayish white, with a diameter of 27 ~ 38 mm×13 ~ 20 mm. After hatching for 50-80 days under natural conditions, the young turtles can enter the water and live independently. The sex of turtles is controlled by temperature. When the temperature is 25℃, the young turtle is male, and when the temperature is higher than 28℃, the young turtle is female.
