When it comes to car safety, the first reaction of many consumers must be the collision safety of vehicles, but fortunately, we have some authoritative reference institutions for vehicle collision safety, and the testing standards of these institutions are becoming more and more perfect. However, compared with the collision safety of vehicles, the safety problem of the interior environment has never stopped. From the "odor in luxury cars" mentioned at the "3. 15 party" in 20 19, to the "Poisoning Audi" incident in 20 19, and then to the COVID-19 epidemic that swept the world in the first half of 2020, consumers paid more and more attention to the safety of the interior environment of the car.
Maybe you will think that in the first half of 2020, most domestic automobile enterprises introduced CN95 air-conditioning filter for environmental protection, but it is obviously unconvincing that only one air-conditioning filter can ensure the safety of the interior environment. Because in addition to the purification of the air quality in the car, whether there are harmful substances in the car or whether the harmful substances exceed the standard is the most fundamental problem to improve and solve the air quality in the car from the root. However, there is no authoritative evaluation agency to test the air quality inside the car, even internationally.
Recently, during the automobile technology tour in China and the automobile research technology exploration tour in China, China Automotive Engineering Research Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as China Automotive Research Institute) put forward more authoritative evaluation standards for the growing health demands of consumers and the impact risks of automobile products on human health.
China Automobile Research Institute, as a national first-class research institute in the domestic automobile industry, has been deeply involved in the research of automobile index during its 55-year development. Since 20 16, it has successively published safety index, intelligence index, health index, driving evaluation, evaluation rules for new energy vehicles and commercial vehicles. Form an evaluation system covering traditional automobiles, new energy automobiles and other fields, and accumulate a large number of automobile test data and evaluation indicators for building a data operation platform and innovative application scenarios.
In view of the imminent environmental safety problems of automobile interiors, China Automotive Research Institute has completed in-depth cooperation with medical institutions, formulated an evaluation system integrating consumers, automobile enterprises and national policies, and passed a wealth of evaluation contents, including volatile organic compounds (VOC), odor intensity (VOI), electromagnetic radiation (EMR), particulate matter (PM) in vehicles and sensitization risk (VAR). At present, the testing and evaluation procedures of VOC, VOI and EMR have been issued one after another.
First, in terms of volatile organic compounds (VOC) in the car, it will be evaluated and judged through three working conditions and two indicators. Constant temperature and humidity, high temperature illumination and idle ventilation are three working conditions, and EPA (the main detection institution involved in Volkswagen diesel vehicle emission fraud) is introduced to detect benzene and formaldehyde respectively. At the same time, referring to the air quality in the environmental field, the comprehensive pollution degree of pentaphenyltrialdehyde in the car is evaluated.
Secondly, in the aspect of VOI, the comfort of indoor air environment is investigated by subjective evaluation method, mainly taking the grade of VOI as the investigation object.
Thirdly, in the aspect of electromagnetic radiation (EMR), it mainly aims at a more comprehensive evaluation of vehicles under various working conditions such as constant speed driving, rapid acceleration driving, rapid deceleration driving and communication. In the test frequency band, the magnetic field of 10Hz-30MHz tests three driving conditions, and the electric field of 30MHz-3GHz tests communication conditions.
Fourthly, in terms of particulate matter (PM) in the vehicle, the effects of vehicle tightness and air conditioning internal/external circulation system on PM concentration in the vehicle can better reflect the vehicle filtration performance and PM in the vehicle. In addition, China Automobile Research Institute is the first PM experimental cabin installed and debugged at home and abroad, which can be used to evaluate the tightness of various passenger cars and test the filtration efficiency of air conditioners.
Fifthly, there is no reference standard for in-vehicle sensitization risk (VAR), which belongs to a brand-new field. This test is aimed at in-vehicle leather, fabric, metal coating and plastic materials. The evaluation regulations to be issued soon include physical detection and toxicological detection of automobile interior materials allergenicity.
In addition to the above excellent monitoring standards and equipment, China Automotive Research Institute also has a very deep foundation and technical support institutions for product research and development, experimental research and quality inspection in the domestic automobile industry. This time, China Automotive Research Institute has established and improved the evaluation standard system from all aspects, so it is very necessary for the global automobile industry to establish a very perfect evaluation standard with a reference system.
From the perspective of the global automobile industry, the in-vehicle health index is as important as the safety of the vehicle itself. It is impossible to explain that the vehicle is safe only from the collision safety of the vehicle, especially if more and more new energy vehicles use recyclable materials in large quantities in the future and make a unified judgment standard. Moreover, China Automobile Research Institute's China automobile health index, which aims at the health of the interior environment, is to promote the global automobile to develop in a more comprehensive direction in the future.
